‘budget’? Definitely! All but a lucky
few brides-to-be find themselves working
to some kind of wedding budget – money
doesn’t grow on trees after all. So how

Welcome to the story of ‘Essential
Brides’ – a pioneering local business
owned and
operated by Emma Perrow.
The original
business idea stemmed from the time Emma
held stalls at local markets
once a month selling pre-loved clothes
on consignment. This was proving so successful,
a couple of friends asked if Emma could
sell their wedding gowns – which she
did. The seed was planted.
After extensive
research, Emma found that there was no
way to buy or sell pre-loved
wedding gowns in the Illawarra. Any bride
wishing to buy a pre-loved gown had to
either spend week after week scouring
the newspaper classifieds, or travel
to Sydney, and of course - brides wanting
to sell their gowns had the same problem.
Emma
is quoted as saying – ‘Women are getting
smarter and more practical these
days, they see the sensible approach
to their wedding day and understand that
they have a budget to stick to. Buying
a dress that has been worn for sometimes
a matter of hours and less than half
the original cost is a complete bargain
– women love bargains, and that’s why
our business works!’
Essential Brides
just makes sense – helping brides to
sell their much-loved gowns
on consignment to brides-to-be looking
for a less expensive alternative. Most
of the gowns are well-known designer/couture
brands, and are available at a fraction
of the original cost. In addition, brides
aren’t the only ones catered for. Pre-loved
gowns for bridesmaids, mothers of the
bride or groom, flower girls and vintage
wear are also available. Don’t like the
idea of a pre-loved gown? Essential Brides
also carry brand new gowns from local
retailers looking for an alternate way
of selling their discontinued stock.
Don’t
think Illawarra brides have this service
all to themselves! Being an online
store, the services of Essential Brides
are available to girls not only nationwide,
but even further around the globe. A

a girl in Adelaide – and for those wishing
to sell their gowns the exposure is greater
than any newspaper advertisement could
achieve.

Brides world wide recognition, resulting
in ever increasing website traffic with
visitors and customers from across the
globe. But it doesn’t stop there – future
