might think the honeymoon planning process is "easy-peasy" and
won't take any time at all
You couldn't be more wrong!
In fact, you have to start planning the honeymoon at least
six months ahead of travelling. To help you along, have a
look at the following:
Six
Months Before the Honeymoon
- Set
a budget for the honeymoon.
- Decide
what type of honeymoon you'd like to have, e.g. overseas,
local, relaxing, adventurous, etc.
- Research
destinations with the help of a travel agent, magazines,
travel books and newspapers.
Five
Months Before the Honeymoon
- Book
airline tickets (if travelling by plane).
- Book
accommodations.
- Get
vaccinated (if going to a third-world country).
Three
Months Before the Honeymoon
- If
you don't have them already, apply for passports.
- Arrange
for any necessary visas.
- Confirm
all reservations.
Two
Months Before the Honeymoon
- Buy
luggage if needed.
- Buy
travel essentials, e.g. electrical adaptors, video/camera,
batteries, film.
One
Month Before the Honeymoon
- Purchase
traveller's cheques.
- Purchase
travel insurance.
- Pay
off any credit cards.
- Give
someone at home your travel itinerary.
- Refill
any necessary prescriptions.
Two
Weeks Before the Honeymoon
- Pick
up the airline tickets and make sure everything is accurate.
One
Week Before the Honeymoon
- Reconfirm
everything.
- Start
packing.
Day
of Departure
- Reconfirm
your flight before you leave for the airport.
